Our final 2 days! Yesterday the group left early to have a food distribution for 200 families. After the food distributions, the group divided into three teams to dedicate each house. Sydney and Shadya provided medical care to a man who greatly needs it. Several returned back to the school to help take down the decorations, wash all of the tablecloths, and organize everything. Mrs. Sandra returned to help finish sewing the uniform skirts for next year.
The group finished the house dedications just in time to meet the students in grades kindergarten through third at the mall. The students loved eating at McDonalds, playing in the arcade, and eating ice cream. It was a fun time for all.
We were able to have a devotion and share time to summarize some of the great things God did throughout the week. Sabrina did an excellent job leading in worship.
After devotion, Coach Mickey and Dovie spent time coaching the girls and boys basketball team. They were wore out. Within the past several months the basketball teams have Joe David, Mr. Morris, and Coach Mickey–they should be professionals soon!
The majority of the group said there good-byes this morning and headed to the airport.
There were ten remaining to help serve today. Some of them spent time with their sponsored child and families by eating lunch and buying some groceries. Others helped cook a delicious lunch consisting of fried chicken, rice, and salad for about 150 elderly people in our community.
After lunch, the group ended the day with shopping in Antigua.
Eight out of the ten will leave tonight and the final two will leave tomorrow. We have had a fantastic week!
