We are so excited to return to some type of normalcy! The children returned to the school last Thursday. We spent Thursday and Friday on the logistics of how to best use our space and our time. The children were happy to receive the delicious plates of food and hugs from the teachers. We will continue to operate the same as last year with limited students in each group and limited hours, but it is better than nothing. There is definitely a vibe of excitement among the students.
The empty plates in the pictures show how much the children enjoy the delicious food. I watched some growing boys return for seconds.
Today one of our teachers gave a new kindergartener boy a new sweater. The sweet boy explained to his teacher that he would be sure to return the sweater tomorrow. She told him that the sweater is a gift to him. With a huge smile, he said, “Wow! Now I have 2 sweaters!” People are probably very tired of hearing me say “Our teachers are the Heroes!” But it is sooo true!
