5 Loaves & 2 Fish

The greatest need for the people in Guatemala is food! The needs are overwhelming.

Today we blessed every family at Colegio JET for the 11th week in a row. Each family received beans, rice, flour, oatmeal, sugar, nutrient drink mix, pasta, potatoes, carrots, onions, tomatoes, zucchini, and eggs.

The food bags have become the only certainty in the lives of so many families.

Thank you to each person who has given to help us purchase food. The school food budget has tripled since this pandemic.

The other day I told my dad that Bro. Jack Bailey always sends me the most encouraging emails. He said that I should consider it a compliment because Bro. Jack never sends emails. I do want to share part of the email with you:

We always feel overwhelmed when we look at our resources in comparison to the need. It is like the 5,000 that Jesus asks His disciples to feed. They said, “Are you kidding? How? With what? There are too many of them and too few of us beside we have only 5 loaves and two fish.” Our resources are never inadequate when we put them in Jesus hands. We are not the answer: He is! We can’t feed them; He can! He wants you to care; He wants you to do your very best but He also wants us to acknowledge that we can do it only through HIM. We will always have the burden but trusting Him will relieve us from the stress.

Please pray for God to multiply the “5 Loaves and 2 Fish”!
