Harsh Reality!

We like to focus on the stories of hope. We like to focus on stories of children who are being provided with the opportunity for a better life. We like to focus on lives changed for the better. However, we are quickly reminded of the harsh reality for the majority of the families who live within a very close proximity of our house.

Harsh Reality About Guatemala:

–The 6th HIGHEST Malnutrition Rate in the World

–Almost 50% of Children Are STUNTED from Poor Nutrition

—66% of the country lives on Less than $2 per day

–The Malnutrition Rate has TRIPLED in a Year

We know the effects of the Covid-19 will not disappear when things return to normal. We have walked into the homes and the only food is the bag of food provided by our ministry. We have listened to single mothers express great worry for paying for rent and buying food. So many of them have not worked for 2 months due to government restrictions. We have reassured the families that we will walk through this time of uncertainty with them. We have been their stability during this scary time. We have seen the eyes of children light up with hope when they see our car coming down the street. We are doing life with them.

How Can You Walk Through Life With Them?

Your donation can be the lifeline for so many families. The food bag consisting of beans, rice, oatmeal, nutrient supplement drink, carrots, radishes, tomatoes, zucchini, onions, potatoes, oil, flour, eggs, etc. can make sure the children are receiving the nutrients they need. Due to our relationship with the community, we are able to work with our staff and pastors to personally know the needs of each family.

Perhaps you can be the reason a mother does not cry because there is no food in the home. Perhaps you can be the reason a child does not go to bed with hunger pains. Perhaps you can be the reason a widow lady will give thanks to God for meeting her needs.
