Worshiping Jesus!

Around 6:00 am my paternal grandfather, Charles “Curly” Turrentine, entered heaven.  He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior almost 51 years ago.  His life was radically changed when he became a follower of Christ.  For this reason, we know he is worshipping at the feet of Jesus.

There are so many stories to be told about Papa.  You never really had to wonder about his opinion on certain subjects.   His bluntness allowed him to be fearless in telling people about their need to accept Christ as their personal Savior.  Perhaps one reason he was fearless in sharing his faith is because of the miracle in his own life.  He lived the verse “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Because we have accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and Lord, we are confident that we will worship see him again.  We will worship at the feet of Jesus with him.   Our trust and hope is in the Lord.

Papa’s request was for gifts to be given in his memory to Shining Light Abroad Ministries.  He was so proud to be a part of giving financially to Colegio J.E.T. (Jesus & Education Transform) because he knew the cycle of physical and spiritual poverty can be broken.  He understood eternal investments are invaluable.

You can honor the Turrentine family by giving in Charles “Curly” Turrentine’s memory through two ways:                                                                                                                                           Online Giving:   https://shininglightabroad.com                                                                                                     Checks: Payable to S.L.A.M.                                                                                                       Mailing Address: P.O. Box 513 Grand Bay, AL 36541

Carolyn Turrentine and the children will receive a card telling them of your generous donation in memory of Curly Turrentine.

Thank you for all of the prayers for our family!
