So many churches are involved with a successful Awana’s program. In the school the children will be involved with Bible classes along with the academic objectives. After a lot of thought, we have decided to use the Awana program to teach Bible verses. “Awana equips local volunteers in churches around the world with Biblical evangelism and discipleship solutions so that today’s children may become tomorrow’s Christian leaders, in every aspect of society and culture.” (away.org).
The program is designed for each child to have a book in order to move at his/her own pace throughout the program. There will be incentives for memorizing verses and completing the different levels. We will have approximately 160 children enrolled in the school for the first year. Each class will have 20 students. We would like for every child to be able to have his/her own book. Elizabeth Westbrook was kind enough to make me a spreadsheet with the items needed and the cost of everything.
Is there a church who would like to sponsor the Awana program for the school? Is there someone who would like to sponsor a classroom? Is there someone who would like to sponsor an individual child?
The total cost for the books will be about $2000. The cost for each class is $250. The cost for each child is $12.50.
School doesn’t begin until January so why do we need to order now? We are hoping to have all of the books brought to us by November. This means we are dependent on groups to bring the books to us.
You can give online through SLAM and designate it to Awana.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
