We are grateful for everything the feeding center program has accomplished over the past 6 years, but we are ecstatic about the future for the children. In January 2020 we will begin school for grades kindergarten through 7th. We will add one grade each year following. The children will receive a Christ-centered, quality education. The school will be designed for the children to complete high school and be given the opportunity to attend college.
We know the sponsorship program plays a vital role in our ministry. It is very important for the children to each have a sponsor. The children take great confidence in knowing someone is willing to help them be successful in life. We have been able to see relationships between sponsors and children flourish throughout the years.
How Can I Sponsor a Child?
For $40 per month, the sponsorship will help a child with academics and nutrition. They will attend G.R.A.C.E.’s private school located on the property beside the current feeding center. The school will be accredited by the Guatemala Ministry of Education. They will receive a high-standard, quality education from January through October. They will receive breakfast and lunch each day. The meals will consist of meat, vegetables, dairy, and fruit. In addition to receiving breakfast and lunch each day, they will be provided uniforms and school supplies.
The children will also attend “camps” in November and December. This will allow them to receive food along with extra academic help.
There are high expectations for each child attending the school. Each family must complete a thorough interview, home study, and agree to the requirements before being accepted into the school. Failure to comply with the rules will result in termination from the school.
How Can I Sponsor the School?
The finances from the sponsorships do not cover all of the operational cost and the salaries for the school. The electricity, propane gas, internet, curriculum, teaching resources, and salaries will be a growing expense as the number of students continue to grow. You can give directly to the school program to help cover the operational cost of the school.
