Why no blog on Friday? We woke up without power, we enjoyed it in the afternoon, and then we went to bed without power! We have not lost power in a couple of months, but I was not prepared to lose it on Friday. Lizzi referred to brushing our teeth with bottled water as “old school”. Thankfully, sweet Ms. Annie had sent us several flashlights and we used them all.
Only one more day until my parents, Uncle Eddie, and Aunt Sue are in Guatemala with us! My girls are excited because it means a trip to the arcade and a Hershey’s pie from Burger King. I told Soy that it feels like Christmas as we wait for them to arrive. The closer it gets the longer the days become. Soy just looked at me like I was crazy. However, Soy was told that Bryan Drake is coming to Guatemala in December and he is beyond excited–ridiculous!
We have been able to spend some time working in the yard at the mission house. We are trying to have the yard meet Ms. Caroline Ford’s standards. Her taste is simple–she likes only the best!
We had a good week in English and computer classes. Last night, I challenged one of the young guys to learn Romans 3:23 by today and I would give him money. This morning he recited Romans 3:23 and John 3:16 to me, and he smiled as I paid him for each verse! Church was good yesterday as another neighboring church joined the service. We were invited to a graduation party last night and it was very nice.
If I do not blog for the next week it is because I am choosing to spend time with my family!
