This blog is going to be picture overload! I did a terrible job at posting every way we ministered with Danville Baptist last week, but Pastor Joe David does not believe in rest for the weary.
The team was able to build and dedicate 6 houses for families directly involved in the feeding center or GRACE Church. The team experienced horrible rain one afternoon and a few custom built houses, yet they never complained. They did an excellent job with focusing on ministering to the families through painting fingernails to holding babies to passing out stickers. The families were extremely thankful.
The team fed the children at My Special Treasure School on Tuesday through Friday. The kids ate a good meal every day. They were very excited to have spaghetti and ice cream as they celebrated their final day of school!
The teachers from My Special Treasure School were treated to a dinner at the mission house on Friday night. Joe David spoke a word of appreciation for the sacrifices they make to minister to the students. Each teacher was presented with a special gift from the group. The directors expressed their appreciation to Danville Baptist Church for encouraging them in their ministry. This was a very special time for them. (After dinner they helped make 90 PB&J sandwiches for the zoo trip!)
We had two block parties for the families from the feeding center. Three inflatables, sno-cones, popcorn, cotton candy, fingernail painting, and face painting made hundreds of children very happy. It was a long, but great day. A special thank you to Mike Parker (Clubhouse Guatemala) for helping us with the event.
The team gave each family involved in the feeding center and GRACE church a bag of food for their family. They are always grateful for the food distributions.
David Hopper led worship for the congregation and Pastor Joe David did an excellent job in preaching. One man chose to become a follower of Christ so the trip ended in a very special way!
These pictures are awesome! Love seeing all the kids, and we missed you so much last weekend. We will figure out a way to come see you in person too. ❤
