It is “freezing” in Chimaltenango! According to every other Guatemalan and myself it is cold. I dressed my girls in long sleeves, pants, and jackets to go outside. Lizzi said, “It is like we are real Guatemalans!” We laugh at how they relate certain things to living in Guatemala. Often times, while playing they try to balance baskets are their heads. I guess they are planning to start selling fruit in the market for extra income!
One technique we use to teach English is through Bible storytelling. For my third grade class we have been learning Genesis 1:1 and how God created everything. I have been surprised at how hard some of the students work to learn the correct words. I have attached a video as they are showing off their Bible verse in English.
