Gain & Lose

Written by Scott Fontenot For twenty five years or so, I have listened to people give an account of their first mission trip to Grace Mountain. None of these accounts prepared me for the things I would gain and lose by going.  On the gain side, I now have gained an appreciation of the need … More Gain & Lose

Forever Changed!

I love how the first-timers on every trip are wide-eyed and soaking in everything about the beautiful country and people. I also love when people return year after year and tell stories about how one trip to Guatemala forever changed their lives. Pam Landry Baker is an example of how God used a trip to … More Forever Changed!

What If?

The other night, I hugged the cutest 11 year old girl as she told me about her fears.   Unfortunately, these were not the normal fears of a child, but all of the “What If’s” of a child who has experienced great loss and trauma.  This mama could not look her in the eyes and … More What If?

“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. … More More Family!

I Dare You!

A Full House!

This past week we hosted 50+ people on Grace Mountain.  Houses built, food distributions, widows luncheon, chicken coop extension, cake decorating, a ridiculous amount of visitors for supper, spoiling our teachers, a fiesta, lots of hugs, and a ton of soccer and basketball.   The week was very busy with lots of activities.    Honestly, … More A Full House!

Life Lately

It has been a minute since a blog entry.  But we can explain…. I am busy unlike some other people who blog daily!   Here is a recap of the past month in our ministry: A Full House: In mid April our house was filled with lots of family and friends.  There were lots of … More Life Lately

Happy Mother’s Day!

Yesterday, we celebrated Mother’s Day in Guatemala!!! We are so grateful for all of our teachers who nurture, hug, love, counsel, smile, and invest in every child.   Our teachers are positive examples to each student.  Just like a mother, they play such an important role in every life.  There are so many similarities between … More Happy Mother’s Day!
