If you have come to Grace Mountain this year, then you have probably seen the construction of the church! My dad tells me that people frequently ask him about the progress, and honestly, I am not always great at giving updates. But yes — we are seeing progress! There are lots of blocks, rebar, and concrete going into the foundation and walls of the church building.
We are counting down the days until the church is finished and we can gather together in this new space for worship. As exciting as the construction is, I am even more excited about the growth happening within the congregation itself.
This past Wednesday night, I took a moment to peek into each of the three children’s classrooms. I saw fifty children learning about Jesus through Bible stories and songs. I could hear the youth laughing together as they played games, and in another room, Julio was faithfully teaching the Word of God.
Later, I watched the youth sit together in a circle on the basketball court, listening as several students shared their testimonies. These students volunteered and came prepared to tell others about what Jesus has done in their lives. There were more than fifty youth worshipping together on a Wednesday night!
Then I walked into the church service and saw ninety adults listening to Pastor Adan preach the Word of God. One of my prayers for this year has been to see growth among the youth and the men of the church. On this Wednesday night alone, there were fifty youth and twenty-one men present. We are so grateful for what God is doing.
So, how is the church progressing?
The church building is making great progress, but even more importantly, the church congregation is growing too.
