How do teams impact Colegio JET? We LOVE to show the teams everything God is doing on GRACE Mountain. Our children love to give hugs to the North Americans. They crave the extra attention. Our teachers are so encouraged by people praying with them and speaking truth over their lives. Many of the teams will buy, prepare, and serve breakfast and/or lunch for the students. We are praying God will send others to financially invest in the lives of these children and teachers. There is no greater investment than in the life of a child.
How can you help? We know this situation did not take God by surprise. We believe God will use His people to provide for these precious children and their families. We bought enough beans and rice to give food bags to our children last week and this week. However, there have been many other families who need the food. So we chose to provide food bags for our students last Wednesday and we have provided food to other families in the community. The majority of the families were widowed or elderly people. The food provided to the widowed and elderly have been given by the pastors of Iglesia JET as they pray for each family.
Please remember, economic hardships for these families look very different than the economic hardships for the families in the states. They do not have a savings account or government assistance. A week without work can mean a week without food.
Do you want to buy a bag lunch? We are going to purchase bag lunches for the families at the school. Our plans are to buy a bag lunch with enough basic food items to last a family of 5 for the next 2-3 weeks. The bags will cost $15.
