Happy Mother’s Day in Guatemala! This week the children made special gifts to give their mothers. Do they have school on Mother’s Day? I still do not have a definite answer to this question. I am pretty sure every school and every class is different. Some children have class and some do not! However, we still had 60 kids come to the center to enjoy lunch, reading, and playtime.
Arts and Crafts are not my favorite thing to do with children. Every teacher understands that a simple craft can take a lot of time and patience. Luckily, our worker, Dayana, loves arts and crafts. She worked very hard to help in making jewelry boxes, egg holders, dish towel decor, etc. The kids were smiling as they carried their gifts to their moms, grandmas, or aunts.
