For many Sebastian is the face of abandonment, the face of failure, the face without a future.
However, we know the very God who numbered the stars formed Sebastian in his mother’s womb. When we look at Sebastian we see a Face Needing Love, a Face with a Future, a Face Created for a Purpose!
Face Needing Love–Sebastian is a sweet child who longs to feel secure and safe. After many months, Sebastian feels safe enough with me to give a hug and say “I love you!” There have been days when Sebastian responded out of anger, but those are the days we hug him a bit tighter. Those are the days he leaves knowing we are showing him unconditional love.
Face with a Future–Sebastian was created for more than polishing shoes on the streets. He was created to dream. He was created to do great things. If given the opportunity, he has the potential to break the bondage of poverty. He has the potential to be successful at life through education. He could be a doctor, businessman, architect, or teacher. He could change the future generations of his family.
Face with a Purpose–God created Sebastian with a purpose. God created Sebastian to have a personal, growing relationship with Him. Sebastian has a purpose in life to thrive and live the abundant life. Through experiencing life without bondage, Sebastian will make Him known.
