For our seniors, this was more than just a trip. It was an opportunity to experience some of the incredible beauty and history of their own country. This is something many of them only dream of doing.
In only five days, the students visited Tikal and explored the remarkable Mayan ruins, enjoyed the island town of Isla de Flores, experienced the beautiful waters of Crater Azul, and hiked to see and swim in the breathtaking natural pools of Semuc Champey.
There was plenty of time for fun along the way, too! They enjoyed swimming in the pools, eating good food, staying in nice hotels, and making memories together. It was a chance to relax, explore, laugh, and enjoy experiences they will remember long after graduation.
For many of our students, traveling throughout Guatemala is simply not something their families have the opportunity to do. Places like these may be only a dream. We are grateful that we were able to take that dream and make it a reality for this group of seniors.
And this is where you were part of making the dream a reality.
These experiences were made possible because of the generosity of the teams who serve with us. When teams purchase items from the “market” at the Mission House and give generously to the ministry, those funds help create opportunities just like this one. Your support reaches beyond the immediate needs of our school and ministry. It also gives our students opportunities they might never otherwise experience.
Thank you to every team member who has purchased from the market, given generously, prayed, and invested in the lives of our students. Thank you to our worker, Shadya, who makes the market possible!
You helped give these seniors more than a nice trip and 30+ hours in a van. You gave them the opportunity to explore their country, experience its beauty, strengthen friendships, and make memories together.
Sometimes the greatest gift is the opportunity to experience something you never thought possible. Thank you for helping us make that possible for our seniors!
