The Enemy fights. He fights hard.
Yesterday, I looked into the faces of our kindergarten, sixth grade, and ninth grade students as they participated in graduation ceremonies. Faces of children made in the image of God. Faces of children who have a purpose for their lives. Faces of children who will be leaders for the Lord. Faces of children who can change future generations. I was reminded that the Enemy is seeking to destroy the lives of these children. He is lurking in the shadows with full intention of destruction.
As I sat on the basketball court, I was proud to see all of the beautiful buildings, the manicured grounds, and the sports area. However, Satan does not feel intimidated or threatened by the beauty of the school, the technology, the turf soccer field, etc. He is threatened by the lives being shown the love and salvation found only through Jesus Christ. Satan knows the power of the cross. He knows the value of the soul. He knows the power of redemption and transformation. Satan knows these children can change the eternal destination for generations.
In 2020, the pandemic had caused our school and ministry to basically halt and I was struggling to make sense of what God was doing. Soy and I stood at the mission house and we watched some of our students running around the school area. Soy said, “Just think about how God is going to use the school to change the lives of those boys.” I asked the question “Is it worth it?” Is it worth the spiritual warfare? Is it worth the sacrifice? Is it worth all of the trouble and the unknowns? We both answered—Yes, it is worth it.
In 2023, I watched the children beam with pride as they took graduation pictures with family, I asked myself the question, “Is it worth it?” My answer remains the same—Yes, it is worth it.
The Enemy fights.
We will fight.
Will you fight with us?
The victory belongs to the Lord.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12
