We had sold or given away almost everything that we owned. I honestly don’t remember a lot of those final months of packing up. I do remember taking our recliner to Goodwill and the worker rejecting it. I did not even know that Goodwill can reject things, but apparently it was that bad.
The only thing we had left to get rid of was a Blue SUV. I don’t know the model, year, or mileage. I just remember thinking no one will ever buy this car. Trust me—there was not a lot of value in this blue car. (Although I don’t think Goodwill would have rejected it)
Soy drove the car to the middle of town and parked it. The “middle” of town is only about 2 miles from our house. We felt so bad leaving it for my parents to have to sell it. We knew it could take several months to sell and this was one more thing to worry about.
As Soy was returning from parking the car, his phone rang. It was a lady expressing her interest in the car. How in the world do you put a car up for sale and have an interest in less than 2 minutes? Soy returned to show the car and let her test drive it. She explained how she had been praying for the Lord to provide her with a car for work. This was the perfect car for her and an answer to her prayer. She liked the car and she liked the price. She handed Soy the cash and left a happy camper. We laughed as we realized that God had answered the prayers for all of us through one blue car.
