Last year, our high school students experienced the first Colegio JET Mission Trip. This year our high school students are experiencing the first Colegio JET Youth Camp!
They came to the mission house on Monday on morning to eat breakfast and play games before taking all of the suitcases to the “camp”. They are actually staying at Finca Xeyuju which is on the same mountain as Grace Mission, however, it has a completely different environment. The lodging, lake, and space is perfect for our students to play and to have devotions. The owner, Jorge, is always very gracious to our ministry.
Why youth camp? I am a strong believer in youth camps and youth mission trips. I really believe taking youth away from the distractions of everyday life and pouring Biblical truth into their lives is where God begins to mold their tender hearts. It is where God begins to heal, restore, reveal, and speak to each of them.
Why do we see teachers in the pictures? One afternoon, we told the teachers all of the activities for our ministry for September through December. It is a lot. Activities such as youth camp is definitely not expected for any of our teachers to participate. Our teachers have families and other responsibilities yet they chose to participate in the youth camp! They play and pray for every youth because they truly love each one of our students. Our teachers are the absolute best!
How do we pay for the youth camp? If you give to the general account for Grace Ministries or SLAM Ministries then you allow us to do special activities such as youth camp. We are so thankful to each of you who give so our youth can spend 3 days away from home to focus completely on their spiritual life. Please pray God uses these days to change their lives.
Pray for our students. Pray the youth camp is part of their spiritual story. Pray for lives to be changed.
