“Only trust God!” This response to life’s uncertainty, difficult times, life changes, etc. seems like another Sunday school answer that just rolls off of our tongue. When you ask people if they trust God then the majority of them will respond, “Yes!” without hesitation. This is such an easy statement when life is going good, but what about when life is not going as planned.
When I look at our lives, there are specific times that I clearly hear God say “Either trust me with everything or don’t trust me at all.” When our obedience to His calling doesn’t make sense to others. When we take a step of faith without the security of future plans. When we feel the emotional downward spiral. When we see the Enemy’s attack in our lives. When our world is turned upside down.—We have to ask ourselves if we truly trust God.
Even now, I can clearly hear the voice of the Lord, “Either trust me with everything or don’t trust me at all!”
Trusting God is a decision. It is not based on our emotions, our understanding, or our circumstance.
Right now, I have three little hearts watching my response during a time of uncertainty, sorrow, and hurt. As a family we say, “We trusted God yesterday. We trust God today. We will trust God tomorrow.”
But these little hearts see the faithfulness of God also. They see the details of God in our lives. We have joy, peace, and laughter in our lives. They know God is trustworthy in the good days and the bad days.
The teachers and staff at Colegio JET have more than 200 students who are asking if they can still trust God when a loved one died, a father is in prison, parents are divorcing, or if they do not know where the next meal will come from. We declare, “We trusted God yesterday. We trust God today. We will trust God tomorrow.”
As a family and a ministry we choose to trust God with EVERYTHING that we have.
Sabrina, our music teacher, wrote this song as a testimony about trusting God. Sabrina’s beautiful voice accompanied by the talented Labriel family is worth listening to over and over. Share with others!
