Pressing Forward!

Today, the school was filled with the laughter of children who were excited about a new school year.  The cafeteria was filled with the smell of delicious food ready to feed hungry children.   The classrooms were filled with smiling teachers ready to love, teach, and serve.

Yesterday. the first mission team of 2024 arrived at the mission house with an excitement to serve others. This is the first of many teams for 2024!

As we have taken the time to reflect on the past several months, we have acknowledged the overwhelming grief experienced in our personal lives and ministry.   We have cried, prayed, laughed, questioned, and worshipped in the midst of great sorrow.   However, we continue to proclaim the   Truth—God is sovereign, faithful, love, and good.

In 2024, we will move forward in grief and triumph because our perspective is eternal.  We will continue to meet the needs of others.  We will continue to tell about the salvation only through a relationship with Jesus Christ.   We will continue to love others.  We will continue to strive to be a reflection of Jesus Christ.

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:12-14
