Thank You Danville VBS!

A huge thank you for the VBS offering from the Danville Baptist children! They provided all of the finances needed to build our elementary students a playground. Our previous playground was quite old and the children had outgrown it. This playground has plenty of running space with four towers, two slides, bridges, a rock wall, nets, a swing, and a dome. Danville Baptist started the build in August. Thelma Baptist assisted with building the towers a few weeks later. Edgar Sr, Edgar Jr, Jonathan, and some of our youth finished the project. They did an excellent job! There will be lots of children using this playground for many years to come.

I am posting some pictures from the Independence Day activities which took place last week. If you follow Grace Ministries Facebook page then you have already seen many of them. We celebrated ALL week! The students had a blast. You really need to experience the activities in order to appreciate everything. There are lots of activities and the local park has fair type rides and food booths. We ate papusas in the park while my girls rode the Ferris wheel. The Ferris wheel is operated by a man pushing it. The fun activity was watching a man climb a 54 foot pole to take the flag in order to win money. No worries as he had a few pieces of rope to help him. The night ended with a couple of men wearing a “dragon box” on top of their head while fireworks shoot from the box into the crowd. When we got home one of our daughters made the comment, “There is no way the fairs in the United States are as good as the ones in Guatemala!”
