As we reflect on the past two weeks, we have been able to serve alongside more than 75 different people representing different states and churches. In my previous post, I wrote about all of the ministering completed by the South Carolina group. The last group was able to accomplish a lot during 6 days of serving also.
The past group was a Grace team led by my dad. They were able to build and concrete 12 houses, have 3 food distributions, host a pastors dinner, and participate in revival services at Iglesia JET. They cooked and served more than 800 meals throughout the week. The people thoroughly enjoyed the preaching of Evangelist Michael Mason and they were thrilled to receive a hot supper after each service.
As we listen to the people share about what the Lord has spoken during their week of serving in Guatemala, we are always amazed at how He moves on the hearts of the people from in so many different ways. The recurring comment that is made is one of “No Regrets!” They have no regrets of taking vacation days to serve, no regrets of giving financially, no regrets of asking God to use them, no regrets of being enthusiastic about Guatemala, no regrets of constantly talking about their experience, no regrets of watching the Lord move in mighty ways.
Why come and serve? I believe everyone who has served in Guatemala would overwhelmingly agree that the pictures and stories do not do justice. Laughing with a child, hugging a mother, serving plates of hot food, praying over a family, focusing on eternal things…..changing the lives of Americans and Guatemalans. Absolutely No Regrets!
